As the end of the year approaches, so to does the deadline for the highly anticipated Adidas Australia video. We took advantage of the fact these guys have been travelling the country gathering photos and footage to present you with the following eye candy.
JAE OVERTON | FAKIE OLLIE
- If he’s not skating on trips he’s on the phone to his girlfriend or has his head in a book. New trip, new novel.
- After landing a trick on a trip in Hobart he treated himself to that big rib. Digesting it took him out for two days… #meatsweats
- Part of his job involves delivering drugs to hospitals.
GABRIEL SUMMERS | FRONTSIDE NOSEGRIND
- This nosegrind was his warm up to try a different trick and by warm up I mean first try.
- When we finally did a trip to his home state of Tasmania he split his leg open on a handrail at the first spot. This ended him up in hospital and unable to skate for the rest of the trip.
- Gabbers just spent a month in China… Solo.

ADAM DAVIES | BACKSIDE FLIP, SWITCH MANUAL
- Adam works at his family’s optometry business fitting clients with specs.
- At the manual spot I brought my son Weston out on the sesh. Weston sat in the car with his iPad as we had 5min to skate cos it’s between apartments. The neighbours began yelling at us to leave so we had to move quick. Weston also joined in with the yelling saying, “Hurry up this is boring, I want to go!”. Luckily Davies got the trick pretty fast. I definitely won’t be bringing Weston out skating for a while again…
- He’s somehow become the poster boy for the Melbourne Cup. Keep your eyes peeled for him on billboards around Victoria.
RYAN WILSON | WALLRIDE
- He used to hitchhike from Edgecumbe to Auckland (285km) nearly every weekend when he was still in high school, it’s a small wonder he was never abducted.
- He lived with my wife Sam and I in Sydney in 2007 and Sam’s Mum came to visit us. Ryan went with Sam to pick her Mum up from Sydney airport. He was drunk in the back of the car hollering out the window at girls on the street. Sam was mortified but her Mum loved it and still asks after him.
- He skated massive rails when he was younger and I was with him when he broke his humerus completely in half trying to front board the suicide towers rail, it still gives me the chills every time I drive past that thing. Fortunately Ryan had a lot more he could do on a skateboard than just skate handrails. He may have never touched one since.

DENNIS DURRANT | HALFCAB HEELFLIP
- Has one of the ghetto’ist backyard skate set ups. A flatbar, picnic table and a pool that you can’t swim or skate in.
- He’s Cairo Foster’s favourite skater.
- Has a dog named Zarah that doesn’t listen to him.
LOUIE DODD | SMITH GRIND
- He’s a Vegan and skates in Synthetic shoes whenever I can find them for him.
- Full chest tattoos.
- When we were in Adelaide he and Jae went thrift shopping, I sent them a text saying last one to the van has to buy a box of beer, Louie came sprinting out of the thrift store wearing the blue fleece he’s wearing in this smith grind photo, Jae had left his phone in the van so had no idea and had to buy the box.
MITCH MORRISON | FRONTSIDE NOSESLIDE NOLLIE HEELFLIP
- Mitch grew up skating transition on the Gold Coast so he can actually skate big tranny.
- He lives with Dennis and they’re the same shoe size so when I send them packages I have to send them separate so they don’t get mixed up.
- He broke his scaphoid last year and has filmed most of his tricks for this video wearing a cast.

KAYLE LAWSON | NOLLIE CROOKS
- For his issue #35 Journal cover he did the switch back lip multiple times to get the photo right. It was skatestopped for months. When someone took out the stoppers he went back and did it again, just for fun.
- Him and his girlfriend run their own women’s fashion label called Local Girl Gang.
- He’s so into Adidas that he’ll often buy the non skate gear from shops to wear.

TOM SNAPE | SWITCH FRONTSIDE TAILSLIDE
- The very first time I met Snape he broke both of his wrists skating a spot. So the first photo I ever shot of him was a portrait holding up his broken wrists. Unfortunately, I can’t find the photo…
- When he was living in Melbourne he was window washing for a living. Abseiling off the side of sky-scrapers with a squeegee.
- Right now he’s traveling in Europe. In the past 6 months he’s also been on trips with Adidas to Tokyo and Seoul.
