Favorite type of skateboarding?: Park, Longboarding, Slalom

What year did you begin skating?: 1974, maybe earlier.

What's your set-up?: Subsonic Pauliwog model for Tight and Hybrid/General Slalom with a modified RT-X 105mm front, Asphalt Playground Splitfire 105mm in the back, Avalons or Hotspots.

Subsonic Scout model for Giant Slalom, modified RT-X 130mm in front, Eric Walgren modified Seismic 130mm 30 degree truck in back. Usually Grippins or Sunspots.

Comet Proflex Park 36" deck from 2002, Trendependant 159's, Rainskates Tsunami wheels for parks.

Pauliwog's Wides bombtail(think SchmittStix Monty Nolder )deck 10" with17" wheelbase. Presently retired at a friend's skateshop wall museum. Last deck I made from my 2 year business custom making vert decks.

Landyachts 36" park deck with a 19"wb with Red Tracker Aggro's and Noskoolz 65mm/92a's.

Gravity Brad Edwards with Trackers and Rainskates Tsunami's for skatepark and pools.

Sector 9 Woodcrafter(like the old Sims Taperkick) with Bennett 4" hangers, Manx, Avalons . Just fun to cruise around on and do old longboard freestyle things like G-turns, nose wheelies, walk the board, etc or just go fast on bike paths and small hills.

Old Spruce 1950's era "Sea Ski" waterski with California Slalom trucks and Abec 11 Stingers for cruising.

My top three skateboarding influences:: Tom Conroy, Brandon Goode, Dave Doty, and little kids and anyone else riding around me.

What was your first skateboard?: Unknown, I bought it at K-Mart and loved that thing, wish I had all those old setups now, lots of fond memories.

What skate mags do you read?: Concrete Wave

All Hail Howard Gordon

I just want to add to what a difference Howard Gordon made to Slalom and pavement riding in general.

First though, he was one of the first people I met during the "rebirth" of slalom at Hood River 2002 When a friend of mine talked me into going. I didn't know Howard had any connection to Turner Summer Ski (taking the helm after his friend Bobby Turner died), but he showed me a bunch of the new equipment, not just the Turner equipment,…
