What are you up to right now?
I’m just chilling, having the morning coffee and going skating when the humidity dies down.
Possibly next month then? Surely it’s good to have a bit of down time after working on BNE3?
Yeah, it’s been great to spend more time with family and friends.
Are you still working Project Dist.?
Yeah, I’m still casual there, doing a few days a week.
Who else hooks it up for you?
Anthony Mapstone at Fast Times, Dave Chami at adidas and Ben Ventress hooks up Primitive and Venture.
How’d you first start getting such top shelf sponno boxes?
It all started from just working at Project and skating with the boys every weekend. My good homie Mike Lawry put a word in for me with (Anthony) Mapstone. I just woke up one morning to an Insta message from him saying he was down to help me out if I wanted to ride for Fast Times.
Sometimes modest blokes need a homie like Mike to schmooze the bigwigs. I remember our first session together, I was meant to be shooting with Sammy [Larkins] but he had heel-bruise (or something), he was like “ I’ve got this homie, he’ll definitely make up for my lack of productivity today”. Sure enough, you got two lines at the airport rail and switch frontside flipped the shit outa the Clayfield 11. I was shook, thinking ‘Who is this dude? Where did he come from and what’s he on?’
I remember that day, that set was Larkins idea. I didn’t realise he was injured and I thought he wanted to jump, so I was like, ‘Hell yeah! I’m keen to jump too!” We get there and turns out that wasn’t the case. It was a running joke for a minute there. “I’ll jump, you chill“ [Laughs]
How’d you start getting on sessions with Sammy and filming with Patty G and Ethan Miller?
Lawry introduced me to Patty and Ethan. I’d never really been with a crew that was trying to get out and film and shoot in the streets every single weekend. It was exciting and I could tell Pat and Ethan had a real drive behind them and it really motivated me. Originally, I just wanted to have a few tricks in the friend’s section of BNE3. Then it just evolved into me somehow having a full part.
Those 2 have drive, and then some. Tell us a little more about those sessions?
There were so many good times. Watching Larkins jump on any rail we went to, Lawry doing some crazy ledge combo you’ve probably never seen and most importantly how wholesome it was between spots. I feel like I really made a lot of life-long friends while working on this video. Me and Ethan spent a lot of time solo, most of the long lens from my part is filmed by him. I think he put up with me the most, he’s as real as they get

Ethan shreds too, I’m hoping to see a part from him at some point. Are you still skating together now that the video is done?
Yeah definitely, there’s a few Ethan hammers in the vid. For sure, we work together a couple days now so it’s always a Paddington session after work.
Any plans for future projects together?
I’m working on having a few tricks in a new adidas au video coming soon. Other than that, nothings really planned though. Maybe a venture clip or something
Hyped to see what you guys come up! Any travel plans?
Would love to get over to the States. Or go back to Japan, I loved the culture, night skating and convenience store beers over there. I made some good homies. Shout out to Zucky, Aimu, Ensho and Leo for showing us around last time, looking forward to seeing you again soon.
