VAN PRESENTS: GO SKATEBOARDING DAY

Year after year, skaters of Melbourne return to Riverslide Skatepark the first Saturday after the official Go Skateboarding Day.

This year just happened to fall on the winter solstice being the one of the coldest and shortest days of the year. With rain in the morning fear of skateboarding going down at Riverslide was a concerned, but as the Rivers team rocked up the squeegees came out and the Tents, Banners and BBQ went up. By midday the park was dry and skaters turned up to “Go Skate”. At 1pm the traditional GSD tee was donned by all and the day began. With loads of prizes on offer, everyone was encouraged to take part. Although the day was the shortest for the year, the skateboarding fun was long. It’s a long wait until next year, but we all hope see you there.
